Moon Explorer streams the Moon as a detailed three-dimensional world, built from NASA and USGS lunar data and delivered as 3D Tiles. Unlike the rest of Anytime Sky, that data is not bundled with the site — it is fetched, tile by tile, every time somebody opens the page.

That is metered. Terrain, imagery and the lunar tileset are billed by how much gets streamed, so the Moon is the one part of this site whose cost rises directly with the number of people using it. Keeping it open to everyone is the version of Anytime Sky that eventually has to switch it off.

What membership pays for

• The Moon’s streaming bill — every tile of terrain and imagery, as it arrives.
• A coffee a month for the person who builds this, by way of thanks.

Everything else stays free and unmetered — the globe, sky view, twilight, eclipse lab, ground tracks, shared views and the curated examples. There is no plan to move any of it behind a login.
